Markos Georgiou earned his MA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art, where he refined his design philosophy. His earlier studies included time at EINA School of Art and Design in Barcelona and the University of Brighton.
Born in 1996, Markos is a product designer, maker, and material researcher from Cyprus, whose work lies at the intersection of nature, innovation, and humanity. Viewing the world as an intricately connected system, Markos tackles each project with an interdisciplinary approach, crafting solutions that are both pragmatic and visionary, uniting beauty with function to respond to the urgent challenges of our time.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, science, emerging technologies, and craft, Markos engages in an experimental, creative-scientific process that pushes boundaries and explores new realms of design. Driven by a belief that design should not only serve but transform, he pursues systemic change by challenging norms and embracing principles of regeneration and lasting impact.
With adaptive, forward-thinking solutions, Markos’ designs are made to endure across time and context, spanning the immediate, the imminent, and the distant future. He has collaborated with renowned studios, companies, and institutions, including the United Nations and OPPO, to develop innovative solutions. In academia, he has taught at universities and led workshops on sustainability and design strategy, while also consulting on sustainability. His award-winning designs have been showcased internationally in cities like Milan, London, Dubai, Eindhoven, and Munich, with his work prominently featured in the media.
